If I have deleted something from my SafeStick, is it possible to use data recovery software to get it back?
Solution This KB article covers how SafeStick behaves under data recovery software interrogation eg. "Undelete" etc

For example, if someone has deleted something from their SafeStick, would it be possible to use regular data recovery tools to get it back/"undelete" the data?

The SafeStick vendor Blockmaster has commented on this situation as follows:

"SafeStick will not scramble any data for any data recovery applications. All data that reaches the host will be unencrypted since all encryption/decryption is handled in the hardware only. This means that you can access any files that is deleted on SafeStick with such an application."

"That is, if you don't reset SafeStick you MAY be able to undelete data as you would normally from any other disk or device - subject to the usual "undelete" problems / caveats". If a reset of the stick is made however no data will be available at all."

Another option for recovering data is by using SafeConsole. SafeConsole can be configured to take encrypted backups of data stored on SafeStick.
